The Only True SCN Solution
Growers in the shaded regions understand that soybean cyst nematode (SCN), a very pervasive pest, can drop soybean yields by up to 30%. Mark Seed has the solution...the only solution that truly controls SCN infestation. Traditional SCN resistance management uses PI 88788 (95% of resistance) and Peking traits. These varieties are successful for the first year or two. But they don’t control SCN. More than two years of planting traditional resistance often results in SCN developing resistance, shifting race, and becoming immune. Growers using traditional resistance have no choice but to move to non-susceptible crop plantings that SCN cannot harm. But even if the grower rotates crops, the SCN remain, awaiting the next opportunity to attack. Cyst Tech® works the first year and every year thereafter. If you want to control SCN, to improve yields and to have the flexibility to allow continuous beans, Cyst Tech® is the choice for you.
Midwestern University research has proven that race-shifting is uncontrollable with traditional SCN resistance products. Patented Cyst Tech® soybean seed is the only way to control SCN. Patented in 2007, Mark Seed technology controls SCN by dramatically reducing the number of eggs in the soil and minimizing race shifting.
Mark Seed test plots have delivered 70 to 90 bushel/acre yields after five and six year continuous plantings. Mark Seed growers are delighted. Rick Kettley, Steward, IL says, “To see yields like I saw in my plot there are two key things you need to remember. You need to control SCN and you need to be aware of insect infestations”. It’s not likely you’ll see yields like this with continuous traditional resistance seed. His yields are listed below. Click here to see other grower’s comments.
